98 companies moved from UK to the Netherlands due to fears of Brexit

98 companies from the United Kingdom have moved to the Netherlands for fear of approaching Brexit and another 325 companies think about a move, the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) reports Monday.

The NFIA is an implementation organisation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The Netherlands attracts mainly companies from the financial sector, ICT, media and marketing and biotechnology. These companies choose our country because of the required European banking licence or broadcasting rights in the European Union.

Last year, the American trade House CBOE and the Japanese bank Norinchukin decided to settle down in Amsterdam.

Many other companies are still hesitant, because it is still unclear how Brexit is being shaped and what the withdrawal will have for effect on the business world.

The unrest is increasing by “the ever greater opportunity” on a No ‘ deal-Brexit ‘, says Commissioner Jeroen Nijland of the NFIA. “That is why more and more of these companies are orienting themselves on the Netherlands as a possible new base on the European market.”
