ABN AMro expects retail to grow 2,25% in 2016

ABN Amro expect the number of sales to grow in retail but profit margins are under pressure. Retaillers experienve a lot of competion and pressure from online stores. The exchange rate of the Euro-Dollar dropped 23% leading to foreign cloths being more expensive. Large parts of the retail non-food segment still have some catching up to do. Sales are still 17% behind compared to 2008.

 

Supermarkets will grow 2,5% and have grows 6,8% since 2008. Specialised shops experience a lot of competition by supermarket leading to a 7 years in a row fall of their numbers.

 

DIY stores seems to have past their lowpoint and are expected to grow.
