CBS: Labour market tension runs to new climax

The tension on the labour market continues to rise. The number of open vacancies was almost equal to the number of unemployed at the end of June, reports the Central Statistical Office (CBS) on Wednesday.

For instance, the number of vacancies in the second quarter with six thousand increased to 284,000, while the number of unemployed fell by eleven thousand to 305,000.

By the end of June, there were an average of 93 vacancies per hundred unemployed. In The first quarter, this ratio was still 88 jobs per hundred unemployed.

In the last six years, the number of open vacancies is still increasing every quarter. Compared to the low point of 2013, there are now more than three times as many vacancies.

Most vacancies are with 56,000 in the trade, followed by the business Services (47,000) and the care (38,000). In the care, the biggest increase was seen in the second quarter, with a growth of some three thousand vacancies.

Between the beginning of April and the end of June, 313,000 new vacancies arose and 307,000 vacancies were fulfilled. Never before have new people been found for so many vacancies in one quarter.

In the meantime, wage growth has remained behind the increase in consumer prices in recent months. Only in July, Cao wages increased above inflation.
