According to the ministry of defense the IT project Speer has cost over € 433 million, according to the “Algemene Rekenkamer” it has cost double. The project was started in 2004 with the aim to store all financial and logistical data. It should have been finished in 2009 but it is still not fully completed. The parts that have been completed don’t work well and are mainly not in use. €120 million is left and will be used to improve the parts that are finished. The situation is debated in parlement.
