Uberpop needs to pay € 50.000,- for each illegal Taxi driver at work. The penalty is topped at 1 million total. The last non-compliance penalty of €10.000,- per violation has reached its maximum of € 100.000,-. Taxi drivers run the risk of receiving a fine of € 4.200,- A second violation could cost them €10.000,- and a criminal record as well.

Last month UberPOP let know that their taxi drivers will need to do an official exam, have an official license and show a medical clearance. According to ILT this is not enough to comply. The Dutch Public Prosecutor is investigating if Uber could be charged for Organized illegal transportation of people.
