Retailers have converted 3.1 percent more in May than in May 2018, the Central Statistical Office (CBS) reports on Monday. Shopkeeper sales were 2.8 percent higher.
Especially the online turnover grew hard. That grew by 19.6 percent compared to May last year. The turnover of webshops also increased considerably, i.e. by 18.8 percent.
In the non-food sector turnover grew by 3.5 percent, the sales tiers in that sector were 3.6 percent higher compared to May 2018. In particular, furniture shops were doing well according to the CBS. The turnover of drugstores, clothing stores and shoe stores was lower.
The turnover of stores in food and stimulants shrank in May by 0.4 percent. The turnover of the supermarkets barely changed, which shrank from the specialty stores by more than 2 percent. The sales volume was lower than one year before the supermarkets as well as in the stores.
