In the first 11 months of 2015 sole webshops have increased their turnover by 17% compared to 2014 (Source CBS). Webshops with a stoneshop performed even better at an increase of 25%. The rest of retail grew only 1%.
The number of webshops has sixfolded in 8 years time. In te beginning of 2007 there were 5000, in the beginning of 2015 30.000 webshops. 25% of the wehsbops sell cloths. 16% home and garden appliances. 8% food. 6% electronics. 2% books, cd’s and DVD’s.
Online shops spend 6,3% of their turnover on advertizing.
