Supermarket turnover grows 0,5%

3,23 billion Euro turnover was realized in supermarkets in April. A growth of 0,5% compared to the same month last year (GfK). The growth was much less compared to the average of the first quarter of 2015. Due to takeovers the amount of supermarket brands has degreased, resulting in more clients for the large brands. Specialized shops have seen a fall in visitors, the exception being bio-supermarkets. Markets, warehouses and wholesale have seen a decline in customers as well.
